In order to implement the State Council¡¯s Opinions on Speeding up the Development of the Tourism Industry in a comprehensive way, to win a sweeping victory in addressing the impact of the global financial crisis, and to achive greater prosperity and development of China¡¯s tourism industry, National Tourism Working Conference was held during 25 to 26, January in Nanning, Guangxi. The major task of the conference was to summerize the work concerning China¡¯s tourism in 2009 and deploy the work in 2010, and mobilize the whole industry to commit themselves to developing Tourism Industry into a strategic pillar industry of national economy and a modern service industry that better satisfied people¡¯s demand by further unifying people¡¯s thinking, boosting their morale, transforming their ideas and promoting reform and innovation.
At the conference, Chairman of China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) Shao Qiwei made a work report. Vice Chairman of the People¡¯s Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Kaohsiung made a speech. Vice Chairman of CNTA Wang Zhiwen presided over the meeting and gave a concluding speech. Vice Chairmen of CNTA Du Yili and Du Jiang, party member and chief of discipline inspection group Liu Jinping, and party member Wu Wenxue also attended the conference. Other participants included representatives of the General Office of the State Council, Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Finance, and National Audit Office, chief leaders of tourism bureaus/committees of the 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, cities specifically designated in the state plan, sub-provincial cities and some tourism cities, and experts and representatives from National Archipelago Resorts, branches of China Tourism Association, tourism enterprises and colleges, as well as principals of different offices under CNTA, directly affiliated units and overseas offices of CNTA.
