Mount Tai is one of the Five Sacred Mountains of China and was once called ¡°Dai Zong¡±. Since the Spring and Autumn Period, it has been called Mountain Tai. It is located in the central part of Shandong Province and on the east side of Jinpu railway. The name of ¡°East Yue¡± comes from its location in the eastern part of China. Mountain Tai impresses visitors with its majestic and precipitous appeal and splendid and gorgeous scenery, for which it is the first of the Five Sacred Mountains of China. It was also called ¡°the greatest of the Five Sacred Mountains of China¡±, ¡°the Zong of the Five Sacred Mountains of China¡± and ¡°the most honorable of the Five Sacred Mountains of China¡±.

The most attractive point of Mount Tai is that it is the only one that worshiped by emperors in Chinese history. Meanwhile, Mount Tai is also the flourish place of Buddhism and Taoism and the mountain worshipped by emperors of all dynasties. Wherever they went, these emperors built temples and set statues, carved characters and inscribed poems, as a result, they left numerous cultural relics in Mountain Tai. The celebrities and great masters of all ages all admire it to the utmost to come to visit in a continuous stream. The number of poetry, songs and odes of all ages that sing the praises of Mountain Tai is more than 1000. Walking into Mountain Tai means going into the history. From the Sheshou Mountain in the southwest of Tai City, Songli Mountain to the Yuhuangding for praying heaven, you will find numerous scenic spots and historical sites, cliff engravings and stone tablets are widely spread all over the mountain. In the Dai Temple, the cypresses planted by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty are dancing in the breeze. In front of Hongmen Palace, Confucius¡¯ sign with emotion ¡°climbing Mountain Tai, dwarfing the world¡± still lingers in the air. On the Huima Mountain, the cowardice of the Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty showed when he reined in the horse to come back still appears. On the banks of the Yunbu Bridge, the five senior official trees appointed by Qin Shi Huang are slender but luxuriant and thriving. On the Eighteen Bends, famous ancient writers and scholars of various dynasties including Li bai and Du fu ¡°write new poems while patting Hong Cliff with smile¡±. The mood is unexhausted and the bold and generous quality still lives. In the Bixia Temple, the solemn ceremony of appointment through imperial order is just at the very beginning. In addition, there are Dai Temple, Puzhao Temple, Wangmu Pool, Jingshi Valley, Bixia Temple, Riguan Peak, South Heaven Gate, Yu Huang Ding and other major scenic spots and historical sites.
